Miami Swim Week 2015 Preview: What to Expect

Posted by Bikini Owner

At previous Swim Weeks, we’ve seen monokinis, rash guards, and more than a few of the skimpiest Brazilian cuts take the catwalk. We expect more bikini surprises this year, so here’s a primer on the designers and trends to look out for at this year’s show. It kicks off in South Beach July 17, and Bikini.com will be there to bring you all the skimpy details.

6 Shore Road
Look for: Internationally-inspired swimwear
If the invitation is any clue, the 6 Shore Road show by Pooja Kharbanda will be as vibrant as Miami itself. Kharbanda takes cues from her Indian background fusing it with her world travels into neon swimwear, geometric patterns, and edgy silhouettes that can be worn from dusk to dawn.

Beach Bunny
Look for: Unexpected trends
Beach Bunny will mark its return to Swim Week with luxury design duo The Blonds. The Blonds are known for creating some pretty out-there looks (they were the creative force behind the elaborate costumes on Beyonce's Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour), so expect some avant-garde-but-fun swimwear.

Acacia Swimwear/Lolli Swimwear
Look for: Girly accents
Acacia Swimwear and Lolli Swimwear will debut their Cruise 2015 collections in a joint show at Soho Beach House. A jet-setting lifestyle and exotic beaches inspires these teams, and the results are always cheeky (if you know what we mean).

CM: CIA.MARÍTIMA
Look for: Sexy Meets Sporty
CIA.MARÍTIMA has the “sporty-meets-feminine” look perfected. Past collections featured ombré bikinis and sexy one pieces. The latest collection promises more of the same modern energy, and we can’t wait.

Frankie’s Bikini’s
Look for: Strappy, sexy detailing
Frankie’s Bikinis, a Malibu-based swim line run by ambitious teen entrepreneur Francesca Aiello, features intricate swimwear with woven straps and bold prints that are both beautiful and surf-friendly.

Aquarella Swimwear/Mia Marcelle/Aguaclara Swimwear/Savage/Toxic Sadie
Look for: a bevy of trends
Aquarella Swimwear, Mia Marcelle, Aguaclara Swimwear, Sauvage, and Toxic Sadie Swimwear are hosting a combo runway show in the tent this year. If past collections are any indication, we expect natural embellishments (like shells and beads) and interesting geometry.

Clover Canyon
Look for: Unique Prints
Clover Canyon is one of the most highly-anticipated shows of the season. Like its eponymous line of dresses, tops and pants, their swimwear will sport athletic, wetsuit-inspired neoprene cuts. Their elegant cover-ups, which work for dinner or the beach, are sure to be a highlight.

Wildfox Swim
Look for: Fun Graphics
Wildfox Swim is all about fun with their Cruise Collection 2015. We’ll be looking for more vintage-inspired pieces that we’ve come to expect from them. Pops of color, pastel hues, and graphic print cover-ups are sure to make a welcome appearance.

Belusso
Look for: Luxury styles
Belusso Resort 2015 Collection is going for an unexpected look this year with dark, lush colors and what they call “beautiful imperfections” . The line captures the spirit of jet-setting locales with a collection of laid-back, luxurious beachwear. Previous collections featured light, airy sea tones and fun, yet sophisticated prints that garnered attention from the likes of Jessica Biel and Eva Longoria.
