A Tanning Bed That Won’t Give You Wrinkles

Posted by Bikini Owner

Daily Splash: Red-Light Therapy

Want a perfect, even skin tone? Time to hit the tanning bed! A non-tanning tanning bed, that is.

Korea’s latest bizarre beauty trend is called “white tanning,” and it involves red-light therapy. Initially developed by NASA to help heal wounds faster in space, this type of infrared light has been proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, and even cure acne. So of course spas are jumping at the opportunity to add the lucrative treatment to their menus.

Here in the states, you can find the full-body experience at celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas’ New York City spa. Her LED Light Therapy bed ($150 and up), sold as the “Hollywood secret for age-reversing effects," is said to stimulate collagen and elastin production, making the skin supple, youthful and glowing, according to the website—so good, it has its own patent. And the best part: There's no UV radiation involved.

We’re pretty sure these beds are going to be popping up everywhere very soon.
