In my head, I have a beauty reference that is virtually timeless and always the ideal that I'm trying to achieve. In 1996's Stealing Beauty, a beautiful film by the late Bernando Bertolucci, a 19-year-old Liv Tyler was the freshest face I'd ever seen on screen, and I tried tirelessly to re-create her rosy, bitten lips and gently flushed cheeks with whatever products I could get my hands on. At the time, Origins made a lip and cheek stain that kind of did the trick, and Benefit's iconic Benetint was a go-to, but I never really, truly achieved my dream look with those products.

When news of Bertolucci's death broke last week, I realized that I was still seeking to replicate Liv's look from the movie — 22 years later. The dewy, rosy lip and softly flushed cheek that looked totally natural (but noticeable) continued to elude me when I tried to use powders or creams. Enter the miraculously glowy, sheer, push-up stick that is Olio E Osso's Balm in shade three. How did I live so long without it? I'm not sure, but I cannot dwell on the past now that the future is so gloriously bright and berry-tinted. A gentle sweep of it on the apples of my cheeks and a glide on my lips instantly lights up my face with a glowy flush that is as close to Tyler-esque as this Mediterranean-skinned gal is ever going to get. I've been wearing it non-stop every day and evening and refuse to leave home without it. It never looks heavy or too "makeup-y" thanks to the sheer gel formula, which also makes it foolproof for applying with a mirror. Natural beauty has always been my jam, and I'm thrilled to have finally met a product that gives me exactly what I'm looking for. Even better? There are 12 other shades in the collection. I will report back when I've tried every. Single. One.
